BOOK REVIEW: Morgan Rhodes's Falling Kingdoms

Book Review: Morgan Rhodes's Falling Kingdoms

Reading this book is like watching the last season of Game of Thrones. This book is just disappointing. Falling Kingdoms had potential to be a great series but frankly, it just didn't meet any expectations. The main reason why is because it is so medicore and it feels so unoriginal. So many people in the book community like this book and the series but I don't see it. This book feels a game of thrones fanfiction series and not even a good one.

Falling Kingdom takes place in the magical and mythical land of Mythica. The four main characters are Cleo (a princess trying to find a magical object, Jonas (the accidental leader of a rebellion), Lucia (a adopted princess with magical powers) & Magnus (the ruthless heir to a conqeror). This book has a lot of fantasy tropes like lost princess trying save her kingdom, rebels fighting a tryant, a sorcess trying control her magic, and princes with huge daddy issues. However, despite all the murder, betrayal, and rommance, I found this book extremely unintresting and frankly, just unoriginal. Why? Because I have seen all of these things happen before. In Game of Thrones

The main reason why I don't like this series is its similarity to Game of Thrones. Honestly, Falling Kingdoms feels like cheap Game of Thrones fanfiction. These two have a lot of similarities. However, while Game of Thrones stands out for it creativity, Falling Kingdoms just doesn't have that. (At least if you ask me).I predicted everything that happen within this book and if something unexpected happen, I didn't feel anything. I was surprise but I wasn't blown out of mind. Or anything like that. (Also, there are incest feelings in this book and I don't like it. I didn't like it in Game of Thrones and I don't like it here. Also, it was really not nesscary. Frankly, it is just gross. And can authors just stop romanticizing siblings falling in love with each other? Incest, under any circumstances, is not romantic.)

I don't really like this book. It's not a bad book. I just feeling like there are better books out there that actually worth my time. I give this book 1 out of 5 stars. It's okay but it so medicore. There are a lot of other amazing books out there and this book is simply not one of them.
