BOOK REVIEW: Ruthless Knight by Ashley Jade

Book Review: Ashley Jade's Ruthless Knight

This book took me by surprise. When I first read Ashley Jade's Cruel Prince, I was not very impressed. The book was okay, to say the least. However, the sequel, Ruthless Knight, is way better. Like way better. This book took me on a rollarcoaster of emotions. This book made me laugh and cry and I loved it!!!

Ruthless Knight tells the love story of Sawyer Church and Cole Covington. Sawyer is the studious church goer who is also sarcastic, sweet, and curvy.  Cole, on the other hand, is the star athlete with wealthy parents and a complicated & tragic past. While the relationship between these two is intitally reluctant, the chemistry between these two is undeniable. I really like Cole. He isn't your typical star athlete. He is very complex and complicated but he undeniably loves Sawyer and I love how he would always defend her & stays by her side even through difficult times. I also love Sawyer. She was funny, sweet, smart and sassy. My favorite kind of protagonist.

However, what really made this book stand out was its dipiction and discussion on eating disorders and body positivity. The lead female Sawyer is plus size and is consider overweight. She struggles with an eating disorder throughout the book. This dipiction is not perfect but in the end I loved Sawyer's choice to walk away from a toxic environment and throughs a healthier path to acceptancing herself. As someone who also stuggles with her body image, I really admire her for that.

I really love this book. If you ask me, don't bother reading Cruel Prince and just read Ruthless Knight instead. This book is really, really good. It has everything. Drama, romance, and everything else you need to create a great book!!! The plot is a rollarcoaster of emotions and it really leaves you on the edge of your seat. This is a great book and I really recommand it. 4 out of 5 Stars!!!
