Book Review: Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare

   Cassandra Clare has done it again. She has written another amazing series that I am now obssessed with. Seriously?! How does she do it? Chain of Gold is a fast paced novel filled with twist and turns and a amazing cast of characters. And I loved every second of it!!!

    Pros: I love our new set of heroes! With each book release, we get a more diverse cast of characters and I am loving it! Thank you, Cassie Clare, for showing us different representations of race and sexualities!!! I love the Carstairs siblings, Cordelia and Alastair!!! They both stole my heart away after learning their stories!!! I really hope Alastair and Thomas fix their relationship in the next book. I totally ship them!! (Fan Theory: I don't think Alastair is Emma's direct ancestor. I actually think it's their unborn sibling.) Also, I am totaly here for James and Cordelia! If they are not endgame, I will literaly lose it! I really will. I don't know what I will do if they do not end up together! I also really loved seeing Jessie and Lucie's relationship. We need explore more of Lucie's demonic powers in the next book. I actually think she is more powerful than James really. I also really like our new villan, Belial! I like him more than Tatiana actually. He's very interesting. Personally, I think in the next book the gang is going to summon Belphegor, Belial's brother, to get rid of him and take back his realm. That's at least is my prediction.

    Cons: I don't really have a lot of cons regarding this book. I think this book is extremely well written. However, there were a few things that did annoy me. I really don't like Grace and Tatiana Blackthorn. I just feel like Tatiana's hatred for the Herondales and even her own family is unfounded and unnesscary. I think this opinion is more of a personal one. Also, why do the parents keep letting them near their children? Or then for that matter? Is it not obvious that she wants to murder them all? Also, I don't like Grace. Particularly, I don't like what she does to James. It's not fair to him or Cordelia. I hoping in the next book we will get of an explanation of why she is like this.

    Overall, I give Chain of Gold a 4.5 out of 5 stars. Cassandra Clare has written another amazing book. The plot is great and addicting to read. Our new set of heroes are brillantly written and I can't wait to learn more about them. Chain of Gold is the start of a brillant book series and I can't wait for Chain of Iron to come out on MArch 2, 2021!!!
